High dose vitamin C IV
Everybody knows that vitamin C is a potent antioxidant. It is a perennial favorite among consumers of nutritional supplements, who take it in their multivitamins and pop extra vitamin C to ward off colds and other infections.
What you might not know is that intravenous (IV) vitamin C is an exceptionally powerful therapy for a wide range of diseases. IV administration of nutrients enables blood levels to be elevated to a far higher range than with oral supplementation. In the case of vitamin C, high blood concentrations can actually kill cancer cells and a host of microbes that cause serious diseases.
Proof Even Skeptics Can't Deny
In the late 1940s, Frederick Klenner, MD, used IV vitamin C to cure polio. In one case, a young girl stricken with polio had already developed weakness and semi-paralysis in her lower extremities. High-dose IV vitamin C reversed these symptoms in one week, and the disease was ultimately eliminated. Dr. Klenner went on to successfully treat 60 consecutive cases of polio. He presented this information to the American Medical Association and published his results in several papers, only to be ignored by the conventional medical community.
This and other remarkable uses of IV vitamin C are detailed in Vitamin C, Infectious Diseases, and Toxins: Curing the Incurable, by Thomas E. Levy, MD, JD. In this astutely researched and well-referenced book (1,200 scientific citations), Dr. Levy tells how IV vitamin C has also been used to cure dozens of "incurable" conditions.
I spoke with Dr. Levy about some of his personal experiences using IV vitamin C. In one case, a woman suffering with severe and debilitating Lyme disease had been seen by many doctors but failed to respond to any of their treatments. Her health was rapidly failing, and her husband called Dr. Levy. He infused her with 100 grams of vitamin C, and within just two hours of treatment her husband reported that she looked 50 to 60 percent better. Over the next two days she received five more 50-gram infusions of vitamin C, and by hour 72 she was completely well. Several years have elapsed, and she has suffered no relapses.
Vitamin C Works When All Else Fails
Several other physicians, in addition to those at the Ber Medical Center, have had great success with high-dose IV vitamin C. Robert Cathcart, MD, reported the case of a woman with an ovarian tumor the size of a grapefruit. Her doctors at Stanford University surgically removed the tumor, but it had metastasized all over her abdomen. At that point she had a very high CA 125 (cancer marker test) of 145. She failed to respond to chemotherapy, and her doctors gave her two or three months to live. She went to Dr. Cathcart's clinic and began IV vitamin C, 60 grams twice a week. Within six months her CA 125 was down to 7, and her Stanford doctors could not find any tumors inside her body. Now, more than five years later, her CA 125 is 6 and there are still no tumors.
Hugh Riordan, MD, an alternative medicine pioneer, was an ardent proponent of intravenous (IV) vitamin C for 30 years, until his death in 2005. He used IV vitamin C (15 to 100 grams) to relieve toxic reactions to insect bites, improve the quality of life for people with cancer, and in some cases eliminate tumors. He also had good success with bacterial and viral infections, including infectious mononucleosis, which is caused by the Epstein-Barr virus. In fact, he reported several cases of complete cures with four IV infusions of 15-25 grams of vitamin C over four days.
IV vitamin C is safe as well as effective. Here at the Ber Medical Center we've been using it (up to 75 grams per dose) for over 6 years, with no signs of toxicity. Inexplicably, conventional physicians continue to ignore this extremely valuable therapy. If you want IV vitamin C, you're going to have to see a different kind of doctor.
